Klean Kanteen

We are the Original Stainless Steel Water Bottle

In the early 2000s you couldn’t buy a reusable, stainless steel water bottle. As a family-owned company on a mission, Klean Kanteen decided to change that. In 2004 we introduced the first stainless steel, BPA-free, reusable water bottle because we wanted to give people and their families a non-toxic solution for personal hydration, while also kicking the single-use habit.

Safe, Healthy Materials

From the very beginning, Klean Kanteens have been built with safe and healthy materials for people and the planet. Our bottles are constructed from high-quality, 18/8, food-grade stainless steel which is non-toxic, and doesn’t impart or retain flavours. All of our caps are made with BPA-free Polypropylene #5 which is completely recyclable at end of life. And as for our chip resistant Klean Coat® finish, we went beyond typical standards for human and environmental safety by completely eliminating ingredients that adversely affect people and the environment. Truly providing a safe, durable finish that is designed with care to stand up to life’s rough tumbles.

Our Kanteens Grow with You

Our Kid Kanteen® bottles and baby bottles are made with safe materials (as always) and designed specifically for little ones. We have a reusable bottle solution for babies, toddlers, little kids and big kids, designed for easy transition as they grow. Having the option to switch out caps makes our Kid Kanteens perfect for on-the-go activities.

Family & Employee Owned

Along the way, we’ve remained a family and employee owned company. Turning down investor money isn’t always easy, but the freedom to stay true to our principles is worth it. If we want to share our profits with organisations we believe in, we can (and do). If we want to spend a few years developing a ground-breaking non-toxic, chip-resistant powder coat finish, we can (and did).
